Summer Caretaker for June 1, 2025 - September 1, 2025

Job Posting: Summer Caretaker for Remote Lodge in Alaska

Location: Talachulitna River Lodge

Position: Caretaker

Duration: June 1, 2025, through September 1, 2025

This position offers a unique opportunity for one person or a couple to experience the beauty of Alaska's wilderness while providing essential caretaking services for a small, private lodge. Located along a blue ribbon fly-fishing river that offers all five species of salmon, wild rainbow trout, grayling, char, and Dolly Varden.  Offering ample downtime to enjoy the natural surroundings. There are moose, black bears and brown bears that share the area. If you enjoy fishing, and being outdoors and are looking for a memorable summer adventure, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Good communication and people skills are essential, as you will be interacting with lodge owners and their guests. Please note that there is no hiking in the area; the only exploring is done along the river. This position is ideal for a fly fisherman who is great at managing their own time. You should expect to contribute approximately 40 hours a week and learn to manage your time effectively around the guests and their visits. Tasks and projects will be assigned based on skill level.

Room and Board: As a Summer Caretaker, you will receive a private cabin with room and board included. Enjoy hot water, indoor shower and toilet/outhouse facilities, and a stocked kitchen to prepare your meals.

What?

As the Summer Caretaker, you will be responsible for preparing the lodge for its owners, ensuring cleanliness and functionality. Your daily tasks will include conducting checks, managing operations such as cleaning, mowing, trash removal, and minor repairs, and using equipment like chainsaws, lawnmowers, tractors, and projects as assigned by the Operations Manager.

Who?
